because it's gonna work we got a lot of stuff um so quick i'm just gonna quickly go through and

  • 1:10

introduce you to all of the lovely people here i am joined by stephen sharif our creative director how you doing stephen

  • 1:15

i am doing well hello everyone out there long time no see hope everybody had an awesome

  • 1:21

holidays and new years and you've survived through january thus far

  • 1:27

and are ready for the rest of 2021 hopefully it's a little bit more docile i apologize in advance my cat

  • 1:32

just turned on the printer and he's just scared himself steven is

  • 1:39

glowing it's primarily because there's a giant window next to him that's lighting him up and of course we have with us jeffrey

  • 1:46

bard our lead game designer how are you doing jeff doing really good hi everybody you

  • 1:51

excited it feels like a long time but it really hasn't been it's been like a month i know right it's because of holidays i

  • 1:58

think it's a long month though i think it's been a little bit longer though right because our december stream was on

  • 2:03

the 22nd or something yeah oh yeah we did it a little earlier because of the holidays

  • 2:08

so that makes sense so it's been almost six weeks the next one will seem like it's too close because they're gonna

  • 2:13

it'll be closer together um but with that and i'm of course margaret crone i'm

  • 2:18

your community marketing lead i manage community marketing stuff and you know we have a whole slew of amazing other folks who are not

  • 2:25

you know able to join us today because we're on you know we're all work from home um but we do have a little bit of a

  • 2:30

surprise they may be they may have a food food-oriented name

  • 2:36

um so stay tuned for that food oriented name yeah food-oriented name um peter

  • 2:42

hamburger we'll be covering reminders uh the studio update design update as well as

  • 2:48

a web design update and environment art as well as uh character art and we'll be doing our

  • 2:56

q a i like that there's a lot of guesses in chat um so with that i'm gonna go through our

  • 3:03

quick updates really quick you know because that's what they are so first and foremost

Reminders

  • 3:08

we have our monthly cosmetic swap over as well um i will grab that

  • 3:16

our monthly cosmetic swap over will be the paragon paragons vigil and it was scheduled for

  • 3:21

february 10th 2021 at 11 am you can check out the news post we announced all the goodies on there

  • 3:27

our december dev discussion went out and toast has

  • 3:33

already uh consolidated the answers for us and sent that over to design team that is our dev discussion logins reward

  • 3:41

we had a lot of amazing and interesting conversation from you all so thank you so much for

  • 3:47

sharing that with us that was a hot topic that was a hot topic i actually did i well yeah it was even i

  • 3:54

mean that was a small sample pool but yeah um i think that uh i was really

  • 3:59

unaware actually about the stigma associated with login rewards and how they are sort of

  • 4:06

pressure tactics as opposed to the reward they're supposed to be right um but

  • 4:12

i liked a lot of the opinions and it illuminated a little bit more the position that people have against

  • 4:18

them so through that discussion and why it's always so beneficial to have these discussions um

  • 4:25

i think i've i've changed my mind on on utilizing that as a as a reward system and will

  • 4:31

probably rethink a better way to um to kind of reward players for their for

  • 4:39

their time in the game because it can equalize or not equalize but it can it can be something beneficial to more

  • 4:45

casual players uh but not a log and reward not something that's pressure tactically i think that's that's really what the sentiment that

  • 4:52

came across to me yeah and um of course you know you can

  • 4:58

still submit your feedback in there uh the threads still open we will we would love to hear back from you guys on

  • 5:03

that front and we do have our next one i i heard that there's a typo in that so toast is like oh no and of course we

  • 5:10

have our dev discussion coming up soon for february that will be on ideal classes so stay tuned for that we also

  • 5:16

have some guild specific things coming down the line uh so we'd you know love to get your feedback on those things as we flesh out

  • 5:22

more of those systems and reminder that we have our play test coming up our next one

  • 5:27

is our february play test that will be february 19th through february 22nd at least that is when we're we are scheduled for um but that is

  • 5:35

all the things for quick updates that we have going on and i'm going to toss it over to the

  • 5:41

lovely stephen sharif to give us a studio update yes thank you um studio update is we

Studio Update

  • 5:49

actually just recently finished some retrospectives on the december test that each department held and got a lot

  • 5:57

of good feedback obviously from the community from our testers uh

  • 6:02

good metrics and data from the test itself practices and procedures internally at the studio

  • 6:07

everybody had great things and input to say that that now we track and and look to improve upon so really these

  • 6:14

these these milestones are beneficial not just for the project but for the studio as well

  • 6:19

and and we had a great time going through those retrospectives um additionally you may have noticed that

  • 6:26

uh i think it was about two weeks ago we started posting some additional jobs at the studio and uh

  • 6:32

i think we will probably actually have some of them yes we are already feeling that we just we just had our first hire of the new

  • 6:39

year join us last week i believe or maybe it was monday actually i think was monday nathan

  • 6:44

nathan i knew a new qa specialist joined the team congratulations nathan we had something

  • 6:50

have we had two oh we did have two we had another engineer that started i'm sorry i swear i remember you know the names

  • 6:56

yeah yeah mikhail started actually in the first week of january as well so um

  • 7:02

the studio is growing we are probably actually i think we're going to have over 30 positions that are going to be

  • 7:07

available in this first round of hiring we're working with some new recruitment agencies as well to help

  • 7:12

fill some of the more specific roles and more senior uh oriented roles as well um so if you haven't had an opportunity

  • 7:20

to check that out i know that community's been putting it out on socials feel free to share that the more you

  • 7:25

guys help us spread the word about the project about the company about about everything we're doing here at intrepid and on Ashes of Creation the

  • 7:31

better amount of people we have applying and the quality of people and it's it's really just

  • 7:36

it helps a lot if you guys go out there and help spread the word yeah you'd be surprised how much word of mouth

  • 7:42

makes a big difference oh absolutely you think it's a small thing and also even if you don't have like a ton of

  • 7:47

following on like a social platform you don't even realize how much the algorithm picks up on you just

  • 7:52

retweeting or liking or commenting on things like that so it does it does make a big difference and it's showing up in other

  • 7:58

people's feeds if you don't have a big following on social media that's okay you just tag somebody that does and

  • 8:07

i'm just giving it is that what you're referencing yeah oh my god it's too funny so

  • 8:14

putting all the keywords in there like every big uh word that you can think of no don't do that exactly i don't want to get in trouble

  • 8:22

yes um so that's all going well and then additionally outside of that we are still

  • 8:27

pending a final move-in date back to the studio things are looking better than they were in

  • 8:32

december so that is good and hopefully they continue in that trend

  • 8:37

and there's no crazy variance coming out of this virus but otherwise that's pretty much a

  • 8:43

studio update perfect all right well we do have a lot of design stuff so first and foremost do we

Design Update

  • 8:49

want to do a little bit of preface or jeff maybe you want to talk about kind of what's going on on the design front towards alpha one

  • 8:56

before we play a video sure um so again kind of recovering from

  • 9:01

the last milestone in the last test um kind of going through all that data figuring out stuff that we

  • 9:08

did right stuff that we could improve upon and kind of making those changes to the team and kind of how we run things

  • 9:13

sort of like at a top level um and then also uh doing our planning for our next milestone so um

  • 9:20

you know we learned a lot of stuff from the last test um and we're going to continue to make changes based on that stuff and so

  • 9:27

anytime we get feedback right it changes a little bit of what our plan is we have like a long-term plan but that plan that

  • 9:33

long-term plan always has you know stuff comes up around along the road and you want to adjust to it you want to kind of

  • 9:38

tighten things up as you go forward so that's kind of what we're in the process of right now we have some things that we

  • 9:44

don't need to tighten up and there's a bunch of designers working on quests and population and some of the like

  • 9:50

underlying mechanics pushing some of those systems forward um and then there's other folks who are kind of

  • 9:56

writing up documentation to deal with some of the things that we learned from from the last test so um you know a little bit planning a

  • 10:02

little bit moving forward um and then we're going to probably hit our first gear

  • 10:07

coming up next week and we'll really start hitting the content pipeline yeah we just did retrospectives for the

  • 10:13

year and uh stephen has been taking a lot of that feedback in as well yeah so jeff i just want to remind you

  • 10:19

next week actually it's february i just thought you might enjoy just just

  • 10:25

enjoy that just like wait what no we haven't have a milestone in

  • 10:32

february i know no um but uh you guys are gonna be

  • 10:38

seeing a video here coming up sure we're gonna do this video shortly i just wanted like right now perfect i just wanna preface

In-Game Environment Footage

  • 10:43

yeah i just wanna preface that um we are working from home and i decided last night that i jump on

  • 10:51

with bacon and i know bacon is beloved by everyone in the community and chat with him a little bit about the

  • 10:57

environment team and how the process goes about creating an mmorpg world

  • 11:03

doing it in the game but just so you're aware be prepared bacon has a very colorful mic because

  • 11:09

bacon is a colorful person so uh because of that you may see some spikes

  • 11:14

in the voice uh and that's okay just prepare yourself so i i hopefully it has some but like i

  • 11:20

could not edit a lot of it because like some of it like he just peaks and gains so i apologize in um advance

  • 11:28

the obligatory uh preface here obviously is this is a this is alpha one this is the

  • 11:34

preview of alpha one um keep in mind this is not a finished product this is still a work in progress if you're just joining us

  • 11:40

uh we do have an open development uh our project is an open development so you get to see the nitty gritty

  • 11:45

and um uh under the hood so to speak so keep that in mind

  • 11:51

all right and with that we will be playing a 25 minute video so we'll see you in

  • 11:56

about 25 minutes oh were you saying something jeff i was i forgot to hit my key

  • 12:02

i'm just saying we'll see you on the other side see on the other side hello everybody and welcome to another

  • 12:08

stream day on Ashes of Creation i hope you guys are all doing great out there we are here back with

  • 12:14

another video in the alpha 1 of Ashes of Creation on vera and i am joined

  • 12:20

by the man the myth the legend one of my favorite people in the world

  • 12:26

mr michael bacon oh you built that up with too much

  • 12:32

hello hello very happy to have you here i know the audience you're you're a fan favorite michael you know

  • 12:38

that and we love to hear yes we love to hear

  • 12:44

you know about what really goes into making an mmo world because you are you have a

  • 12:50

ton of experience and you've you've worked on so many projects um and you know just going through your

  • 12:56

portfolio is like seeing some of the legendary games that we've all loved and treasured over the

  • 13:02

years you're building this up way too much i'm just being honest i'm not gonna follow that

  • 13:09

no but i mean you and the team the environment team are doing such an amazing job every time

  • 13:15

i'm i'm watching updates of the world just being built i'm like oh this is getting

  • 13:20

better and better oh thank you yeah an amazing job for sure how's how have things been

  • 13:27

going so far for this alpha one with you guys oh good i mean it's it's a lot of work i

  • 13:32

mean obviously i mean it's the biggest game i've ever worked on

  • 13:37

so yeah so but yeah everybody's excited um with the work that we're doing and we

  • 13:42

really like the way this biome is turning out which is great yeah i have my ui turned off just so i

  • 13:50

can get the full like look at everything and we're actually

  • 13:55

i mean we're in a pretty interesting spot right now in this particular map we're on top of a giant

  • 14:00

like rock canopy aren't we yep yep that's where we are over the uh the kind of pirate cove uh

  • 14:07

kind of area maybe we can like walk over this while we talk a little bit yeah that sounds good so what's been some of your favorite

  • 14:14

aspects of this particular milestone for for alpha one and building kind of this world

  • 14:20

i can't actually walk and talk at the same time yeah i guess i can't

  • 14:25

uh what was the question again oh so great no uh what's been some of your

  • 14:33

favorite aspects of of this alpha one you know and the building this part of the world

  • 14:39

oh i mean so i mean obviously the the environment is gorgeous i mean you know just the content

  • 14:46

you know or the theme that we used on it with the in the tropics sorry i cannot do this at

  • 14:52

the same time i like crisscrossing hands now trying to get the thing to you got to use this push-to-talk thing

  • 14:59

it's like crazy oh there he is yeah i'm right here i'm sorry i could only walk straight and talk at the same

  • 15:04

time oh you're killing me that's so great this is gonna be great no no that's fine let's just uh let's go up here to like

  • 15:11

the the edge and then then we can just kind of sit here and talk a little bit with this vista

  • 15:16

i guess i love uh i love the canopy nature of this whole let me see if i can jump on him now oh i need

  • 15:23

to show my ui well that's not what i'm looking for i'm sorry guys we're doing this live and by live i mean

  • 15:29

we're recording it the night before and there's not going to be any editing

  • 15:34

uh yeah so anyway just the tropics this is the nature of the tropics biome um

  • 15:40

this is really cool we're excited i'm just uh seeing this your size um like these rock

  • 15:46

the rock canopy that we are that we're on right now is just huge um and

  • 15:52

uh you know it's just really cool to you know take in the space

  • 15:58

i just jumped off the edge to show the the dis

  • 16:05

i'm just jumping right into the water did you jump i took 150 in damage

  • 16:12

oh no did you die no surprisingly let me uh i'm going to swim

  • 16:18

over just to kind of give everybody the perspective of this huge rock canopy

  • 16:23

where like ships can float through and whatnot or sail through i guess uh you know

  • 16:30

another thing that's been interesting is and maybe not a lot of players get the opportunity to see is um you know

  • 16:36

there's obviously considerable portions of the map that you know still need to be built and have cool oh

  • 16:43

wow there's some weird-looking seaweed over here i'm actually really concerned

  • 16:48

where'd you go uh we're in the water no well i'm out of the water i'm on the shore what should i do

  • 16:54

north or south uh we're going south south too i should be just like just

  • 17:00

underneath the rock canopies you talking about the kind of

  • 17:05

yeah that's yeah it's not supposed to be black

  • 17:14

yeah it's not supposed to be black some rendering issues going on there we'll figure it

  • 17:19

out this is working proud project for progress people yeah absolutely

  • 17:24

absolutely um try to come out near the uh the southern entrance where it like goes

  • 17:31

back towards the main island the water is still at under the canopy okay

  • 17:37

um you know another thing i love about so far has been about this map is that

  • 17:42

and probably everybody in the audience knows this is that giant volcano i try to put it in as many

  • 17:48

uh parts are the screenshots that i that i leak it's it's going to be in

  • 17:53

every biome i know everyone just like a unique volcano for

  • 17:59

each biome where you see you went so i'm looking at the volcano and i'm like i'm over near the uh

  • 18:07

the entrance to this canopy on the ground like at this sea level oh okay i'm not way ahead of

  • 18:12

you so you know another thing that's cool

  • 18:19

about um about the map has has has a lot of water obviously

  • 18:24

and this is a the the area of this world you know the world map of era this particular area has really cool

  • 18:31

like coastal inlets and coves and whatnot that's going to make obviously you know ship play pretty fun

  • 18:38

um but how has it been kind of you know building this world with all this ocean

  • 18:44

content and just kind of like planning for what's going to be in the water yeah it's painted but

  • 18:54

i couldn't imagine a lot of a lot of stuff i mean just the sheer size is crazy i mean just like populating it and

  • 19:00

detailing it out is yeah it's a monumental task let's just put that away yeah for sure has it been um

  • 19:09

have there been any like real discoveries that you've made in the process of like going through

  • 19:15

building uh the alpha one and the poor the portion of the world map that alpha one encompasses

  • 19:22

that has caused you kind of as an environment team to rethink approaches and like change things essentially oh geez that's

  • 19:28

like daily yeah for sure but the node system in general is yeah it's it's yeah work in progress

  • 19:36

a lot of variables going into it and uh yeah i just think you know i'm trying to figure out the

  • 19:41

you know the problems that we come up with uh just creating this kind of sheer sizable world and

  • 19:46

you know getting everything to work properly oh yeah for sure yeah i've it's been actually really

  • 19:52

interesting to see the node system progress you know out of its kind of first functional stages that we had

  • 19:58

it in now to its you know more scalable stage where it's leveraging custom tool sets and

  • 20:06

technology to kind of uh to to propagate the node system

  • 20:11

from level to level in real time yeah it's getting really exciting that that you know specific uh

  • 20:19

system platform system yeah yeah um yeah it's been uh it's been watching it

  • 20:24

kind of uh grow into what it what it's becoming um i think once we are hitting like

  • 20:32

metropolis is really going to see some really cool stuff with it yeah for sure and the you know cool

  • 20:38

thing it was what was always kind of my concern i guess initially when when i thought of the

  • 20:44

node system in the first place was how we can make sure that

  • 20:49

the representation of these various cities across the world are going to be diverse and not just

  • 20:55

cookie cutter kind of representation of what players are going to to see and say oh you know this is

  • 21:01

the same looking human city i saw all the way across the map oh yeah for sure for sure yeah i think i

  • 21:07

think the system is you guys really really helped capture

  • 21:15

that diverse yeah i think like once we really start work you know getting the layouts the different

  • 21:20

layout possibilities you know for that kind of moving and squared away um yeah you're

  • 21:26

gonna yeah it's like the the the amount of the that we can get with cities are going to

  • 21:31

be pretty amazing dude the seaweed is so scary i don't know where you're at actually

  • 21:38

in the in the weeds somewhere yeah sorry that's okay i think i'm under the

  • 21:45

rocks in that main inlet yeah all right let me come i'm gonna come into the main inlet area and try to

  • 21:51

find my mind um one other thing has been interesting how many biomes are going to be in

  • 21:59

ashes a lot of people are interested i think it was like 20 right yeah i

  • 22:04

think it's 18. 18. basically 20. it was a lot

  • 22:10

yeah yeah yeah and and how do we go about a generally kind of you know coming

  • 22:17

up with these biomes i know that players have seen the world map and they've seen kind of that cut up and

  • 22:24

represented through different terrain like tundra and snow and grass yeah i mean i think we just

  • 22:30

wanted to represent just about every biome type under the sun really and just have enough diversity over the

  • 22:36

world that like when you went from area to area you know you really just got a

  • 22:41

contrast of uh you know different biome types and uh you know being able to experience

  • 22:48

that so i mean i think we just went for as wide as possible

  • 22:53

pretty much yeah i remember i remember gosh it must been at least two or three

  • 22:58

years ago now when you first kind of developed that mega confluence section on um

  • 23:06

biomes and all the different examples and reference images real world images of

  • 23:12

the just the visual diversity that exists in our real world on earth and how we can take that as inspiration

  • 23:20

and fantasize it up a bit um and employ them throughout the world of era

  • 23:26

yeah and that's still a work of progress i mean we're we're constantly as we're going through like the

  • 23:31

conceptual paths and things on you know the biomes that we're you know still working out

  • 23:36

um you know just adding as much of that sort of high fantasy element to them you know so yeah when they're

  • 23:42

done they're gonna be you know they're gonna be something really cool to gander at oh yeah i mean it really sets

  • 23:49

the stage really in my opinion when you kind of like are part of these vast worlds these fantasy environments

  • 23:57

um you have the opportunity to be immersed and kind of captivated by

  • 24:03

what resembles real world you know biome but also has that fantasy that just kind of sets it

  • 24:10

apart and takes it up a notch yeah i mean it's part of our you know like you're kind of like weird

  • 24:16

kind of set like early on where we would have one foot in sort of real world and second foot you

  • 24:22

know kind of up in the air at the stratosphere you know with with uh you know the fantasy element of it so we're just kind

  • 24:28

of trying to straddle that that line between the two you know to get a real grounded you know

  • 24:35

uh you know feel of the environments but then at the same time you know there's

  • 24:40

there are high fantasy elements of it you know cool silhouettes you know that we do with the vegetations

  • 24:47

and rock formations and you know that kind of thing and you know and really just punching

  • 24:52

up the amp you know just trying to like punch up the environments you know in a way that's

  • 24:59

just like you know they're just gorgeous and they're fun to play and uh you know they're just super immersive

  • 25:05

i'm still trying to find you i'm directly under this structure where are you at uh

  • 25:17

i am frozen where i'm frozen i can't move oh really yeah let me

  • 25:25

summon you maybe i have to get off this thing

  • 25:33

i don't think i can do that hold on let me see i gotta swim something weird went on i

  • 25:38

don't even have anything in my backpack now oh that's strange

  • 25:44

guys you get to see everything unedited just real raw and awesome

  • 25:51

yeah all right hold on let me see if i can summon it where do you bop pop

  • 25:59

let me try to summon bop one second

  • 26:08

are you mounted or dismantled i think i'm dismounted

  • 26:19

oh uh oh i did something something

  • 26:30

yeah i'm completely frozen i could i could see the world moving in front of me but i can't move uh-oh all right well i'm just going to

  • 26:36

roam around the world while we talk that sounds good so how many biomes are

  • 26:42

represented in alpha one uh just one i mean well that's not true

  • 26:47

i mean i guess we got the the other the main center island right that has like sahara and

  • 26:55

uh a few other different types of stuff yeah flip flames there's a yeah kind of

  • 27:01

we got some snow up in the mountains and that kind of thing so i guess it's probably like four kind of biome types uh that make up that

  • 27:08

island and then the the rest of its tropics

  • 27:14

which is your favorite so far uh my favorite is this one

  • 27:23

well this is like not really jungle it's more like like his inspiration was taken from like bora bora and thailand and

  • 27:29

just some seashells yeah i love to work with the trees and stuff who's who worked on most of this foliage

  • 27:36

is that me yeah yeah yeah she's fantastic she's my sister oh it's so good birthday

  • 27:43

that's awesome that's awesome she's fantastic now she's an amazing artist has worked with her for a decade over at

  • 27:50

uh sony and yeah just all of her work is just amazing

  • 27:55

i noticed that you know something interesting and saw some commentary from players who

  • 28:01

participated the thousand thousands of players who participated in our

  • 28:06

december alpha one pretest um that it's cool to look across

  • 28:13

a view in a game and literally be able to see like something that is kilometers away you

  • 28:20

know like and just kind of progress to that area and it doesn't change and it's not like an instance or a wallpaper

  • 28:26

and actually like walk up to the volcano or walk to that other shore yeah that's crazy like i'm looking at

  • 28:32

that right now i just kind of and the other thing i love and i know brian did a lot of work on this for the the lighting systems um but eye

  • 28:40

adaptation as you kind of like approach you know the water and things dim a

  • 28:46

little bit in the general view and if you look away right it kind of lightens up you look back

  • 28:53

yeah he's also actually done a lot of really cool stuff with like uh going into interiors and exteriors and

  • 28:58

having yeah the adaptation stuff working pretty cool on that yeah so one of the things i'm looking at

  • 29:04

right now like across this ocean i'm looking at uh

  • 29:10

i'm looking at these kind of unfinished shorelines you know what i mean and can you talk a little bit about like

  • 29:15

from alpha when we move out of alpha one actually while we're still enough when you guys are working on this but when we move out of alpha

  • 29:20

one the rest of that world that you know 400 plus square kilometers all that stuff's getting worked on and

  • 29:26

and getting built and players see that kind of unfinished aspect of it like i'm looking at right

  • 29:33

now across the well maybe i can start moving over there and just show but like can you talk a little bit about like what goes into

  • 29:38

that process how do you guys plan on creating just like moving in a direction away from alpha one and start

  • 29:45

choosing which biome to work on next and you know what area to develop next well

  • 29:50

i mean we have the the the general sort of layer you know we basically take the

  • 29:55

the terrain the entire 400 kilometers you know and like at least you know uh get it built

  • 30:02

in a very rough sort of way just so we can test and run through like the entire area you

  • 30:09

know the entire world but then like what we're doing right now is you know we're we're starting with the

  • 30:15

tropics um which is uh what was it over on the south south west side and then like

  • 30:23

you know we'll start you know spreading out into the other biomes that are connecting to it and

  • 30:28

it'll be kind of like a more organic sort of uh development environment where we're

  • 30:34

you know we're blending moving into these other areas you're connected to this and then we'll just keep doing that

  • 30:39

until you know we finally get the entire world kind of put together so like yes on this particular one we're in the

  • 30:44

tropics but if you go north you know you're going to be into the tabletop mountain area which i believe are uh

  • 30:51

i believe they're dwarven i think those are the nakua dwarves um i just died oh did you die

  • 31:00

um oh no and i don't have a resurrect oh it's because of the u.s oh i'm

  • 31:07

resurrected sorry yeah they so the hilltop ones are north of yeah oh i don't know how that actually we revealed that i don't know

  • 31:13

if we revealed where exactly on the map this was but now people know we can't edit it sorry it's okay

  • 31:21

it's okay can you just keep going then yeah no you're good you keep going all right well over to the east we have

  • 31:27

the river lands which is you know kind of like your classic uh well classic riverland

  • 31:33

sort of uh biome and then uh further north from there we start

  • 31:38

moving into the desert regions and further south from the tropics we start going into like the heavy jungle area

  • 31:47

i'm excited to see the hilltop stop yeah me too yeah i think that's probably the next one that we're going to tackle

  • 31:54

yeah well plus also you know it's like when we're working on this tropic zone i mean when you look off over the distance you know all that

  • 32:00

landscape that's supposed to be there isn't there yet right so you know it'll be nice like as we're filling this out where you actually

  • 32:06

start really seeing more of the world you know coming online and you know and the tabletop mountains in

  • 32:13

general because they're just so vertical you know they should be towering over a lot of the areas of the tropics over on

  • 32:19

this side and uh yeah so like you'll be able to climb those mountains and get up on top

  • 32:24

of those things and and explore that whole different world or that whole different biome set

  • 32:30

what was the favorite mmo that you have played bacon oh geez um

  • 32:37

you put me on the spot i'm terrible with being put on the spot no no okay you don't have to answer here

  • 32:44

what's the favorite thing you like to do in mmo oh yeah i like just taking those well

  • 32:50

all right me and mmm they're like running around killing people that's my that's my favorite bacon is a

  • 32:57

pvp no totally yeah just like run around explore the world oh look at this guy

  • 33:02

over here what's he doing you know take his stuff and you know yeah

  • 33:08

have you ever played an mmo that had like ship combat or pirating and stuff like that where you

  • 33:13

could like take other people's things those things no i mean except for well not pirating

  • 33:18

and the old ship stuff i mean we used to play was that uh that was the first version of

  • 33:25

that where you could run around with your little naked guy i don't remember what the name was

  • 33:30

called you're playing a different mmo than me i don't know i don't know run around with a bunch of naked guys

  • 33:36

one of the first ones one of the first major ones that came out what was it um and i just drawn a blank oh like a

  • 33:42

ultimate line or yeah ultima online hey yeah i think it was that yeah it's like yeah you're running around you

  • 33:48

know this is like naked dude you're just yanking people and taking their stuff

  • 33:54

running away so you don't get caught one of the best experiences i had with naval stuff and i've i've always talked about

  • 34:00

this in the past was archeage had really cool naval systems and it was really great when you know

  • 34:06

from at least from a pvp perspective and they also had some you know some cool pve aspects of naval combat but a pvp

  • 34:13

perspective is you could you could literally pirate people's you know hard-earned packs and stuff and

  • 34:21

uh yeah i i enjoyed that i guess yeah it could be a little toxic but

  • 34:26

uh it was it was a lot of fun and when i've seen areas like ours with these types of

  • 34:33

of just water gameplay these these zones that are really constructed from a level

  • 34:39

design standpoint to facilitate interesting um combat scenarios

  • 34:45

between players on different types of ships uh where they have choke points and they

  • 34:50

can utilize the train i love that aspect of world building i think that's yeah that's

  • 34:56

super cool yeah that's where i want to really you know see this going as soon as we get shift combat in and uh you know just

  • 35:03

being able to take command of vessels and you know and sail around and

  • 35:08

create havoc actually as far as as far as mmos and

  • 35:14

stuff i've been playing actually a lot of uh red dead redemption lately and uh they got a lot of really

  • 35:20

cool stuff going on oh yeah they did a great job with that yeah just the level of detail and that kind of thing

  • 35:25

so i think that's a lot of that um i think my favorite thing about red dead redemption 2

  • 35:30

uh was just the funkiness that could happen with the horses yeah yeah totally totally

  • 35:38

like when you're running and you hit a fence and your guy gets knocked off and over the fence yes i love those developers that they

  • 35:45

that they left that you know in to just it's just super cool yeah absolutely and

  • 35:51

yeah that's that's why you're like right now you know we're working on the you know the big systems and things but when we

  • 35:57

start getting down into like the details now just being able to create such finite

  • 36:02

sort of detail you know in the characters and you know and mounts and you know ships and you

  • 36:09

know travel and that kind of thing it's gonna be great yeah it's very just the cities and the you

  • 36:14

know just the building of the cities and stuff it's gonna be awesome i'm really looking forward to getting to where you know you can level up all

  • 36:21

the way through camp to metropolis and you know just seeing that that whole thing oh that's

  • 36:29

that's something that you know we haven't seen it in any other mmo really yeah not not to this

  • 36:34

degree at all fantasy sim city yeah exactly complete with player

  • 36:41

governments and you know all that stuff is literally a dream a dream come true

  • 36:47

at least for me i gotta say yeah i gotta say like you know the first time that we saw like recently you know

  • 36:52

since last off i think we were even doing in point five but yeah we first started seeing those

  • 36:58

buildings actually animating building up you know when you're building them oh yeah that was really cool

  • 37:03

oh it was very cool and i mean it brought to life really something that you know before that was just on paper

  • 37:10

and then now you know we saw that in kind of a blockout form and then boom here was this animation for

  • 37:16

these effects and it was like oh wow i can see this now i can actually visualize what it's going to be like to

  • 37:22

watch a city develop citation of the community and the players that's such a cool

  • 37:29

thing exactly exactly well i think that is probably going to wrap

  • 37:34

it for us i know margaret's going to kill me for the length of this probably but we'll see but bacon thanks for joining me i know

  • 37:41

the community loves you and loves the work that your awesome team on the everyone on the environment team is doing in helping to create this

  • 37:47

beautiful world so thank you thank you very much all right

  • 37:53

we'll see you back on stream guys all right sounds good all right

  • 37:58

well i would i wouldn't kill you for how long that is come on well i figured today is probably

  • 38:05

going to be another hour and a half or two hour long streams it's more about how long it is but um i'll just you know take my lunch later

  • 38:12

just have to deal with it um it's more about jeff as can jeff survive it without a stomach growling oh i'll be

  • 38:18

fine i have i have trusty gummy bears

  • 38:24

are they homemade or are they oh no i don't know what they are because i know well we have a friend who

  • 38:30

makes gummy bears and gummy worms and stuff oh yeah cliff makes gummy bears yeah

  • 38:36

and they're sugar-free yeah they were sugar-free and they tasted actually pretty good um he had them

  • 38:43

during our Extra Life live stream i believe he was trying to feed me all kinds of weird

  • 38:48

candy i didn't like the the chocolate with coconut it was like too green like

  • 38:54

coconut can be grainy sometimes it was just it was not my jam um but anyways we hope that you guys enjoyed that it was a really cool look

  • 39:00

and i know we've been asked a ton of times to get bacon back on so we got him on maybe i might need to work with him on his mic quality a

  • 39:07

little but it's it wasn't too bad the only thing that that got to me was the

  • 39:12

um i was hearing myself speak a little bit but um i just trucked through that but it was okay it's always weird i really want to know

  • 39:18

where michael was yeah it's where in the world is michael bacon is the best i tried to summon him

  • 39:25

but my gm commands were broken i think did you forget to turn on like your commands no no i was i was i

  • 39:32

just yeah the mic was peeking we that's why we we warned you all in advance about it

  • 39:40

but i thought it would just be a cool little chill video to show you guys it actually i recorded it in 4k as well so maybe after the stream

  • 39:47

we'll upload that to youtube but i think it's worthy right yeah what do you think for it it looks beautiful what is the chat thing

  • 39:52

you think we should load that up to youtube no i don't think they want it yes or no yeah 4k

  • 39:58

on youtube yay um but i do want to say that you know if you've been following our development progress uh some of those

  • 40:04

big rock formations and stuff like that we've been showcasing like the progress of like the concept art

  • 40:10

to the creation of them and now you're seeing them in the world and i think like that to me is really exciting to to showcase

  • 40:16

because i've worked on a lot of games and i haven't gotten to showcase like the development progress and process of

  • 40:22

it um so you're actually getting to see those step by steps and i'm pretty sure we have an overwhelming yes in chat oh good

  • 40:30

um anything else that you guys want to add in there i didn't see a lot of questions in chat um i know that there's some things that

  • 40:35

we prefaced in there you know obviously things are subject to change um the water stuff i know we're going to

  • 40:40

be making some adjustments to that a lot of the lighting is not finalized and

  • 40:46

yeah just to just to go over a little bit maybe what you saw there and talk a little bit about it some of the eye adaptation actually still needs to

  • 40:52

be balanced a little bit uh it can get a little bit dark um the lighting is still getting passes

  • 40:58

on it as as we speak um additionally uh you saw that there's a lot of polish

  • 41:06

that's missing and that's because you know as we said this is alpha one and um a lot of the

  • 41:11

while it looks great and the environment team is unbelievably amazing they haven't had time really um they

  • 41:16

haven't had time to to polish it to the extent that they will polish it

  • 41:22

um that looks so good so um that being said um there was something

  • 41:28

else that was in there that i wanted to mention um i can't remember now oh water shader

  • 41:34

sorry so the oh so the so the ocean shader will actually be replaced um and while you guys might

  • 41:41

think this looks good uh the final version of the ocean shader will look amazing and um this is uh

  • 41:49

this is a good place holder but it's not quite there yet uh also the underwater um post-processing effects that are

  • 41:56

present which blurs out uh a lot of what you're seeing under that water that's gonna be touched up a

  • 42:01

little bit as well um so something to keep in mind yeah like we're going to want a lot of underwater content and you need to be

  • 42:07

able to see it so um we still want you to have that sense of like yeah i'm underwater and this is a different kind of environment but we

  • 42:14

also need gameplay to be pretty clear during that too so i think the only other thing that i noticed in chat was um in regards to the

  • 42:21

population like there weren't a lot of creatures in there um you guys are finalizing population adding more well

  • 42:27

this this area that we were running around and actually was still a a work in progress on the

  • 42:32

population side but i just wanted to kind of give people a look you know under the hood of what

  • 42:37

these zones look like as they're just starting to come online from the environment teams of these large games these giant worlds right so

  • 42:44

you didn't see a lot of population past really done here design hasn't gotten a little bit yeah go for it yeah

  • 42:50

interesting i just thought i just noticed a couple comments on that yeah process wise right um environment

  • 42:56

lays out kind of blocks in sort of the environment as a whole right um and environment will pick and prod at

  • 43:03

that environment over and over and over again until it gets to a pretty final state um anytime they do that we need to go

  • 43:09

back in and redo our population um so what we do is we we wait until a given area is like 95

  • 43:16

complete before we start putting down things so that we don't have to rejigger the population every time a

  • 43:22

change is made right when they're pretty happy with how everything is that's when we go and start putting things down we've split up the entire

  • 43:29

area into pois um so pois are points of interest um and these are kind of

  • 43:34

areas where story happens where there's like you know some kind of historical event or there's

  • 43:40

just a cool looking vista or they're just places of interest that we're going to populate more

  • 43:45

more specifically um and each of these have a story behind them and there's a lot of um a lot of you know prop requests and

  • 43:53

so these things aren't finished yet so they're they're they might be at like 50 or 65 percent um so they're not ready

  • 44:00

for us to put population down so that's why these these kinds of areas these kind of like really cool vista areas that stephen's going to show you

  • 44:06

don't have population so that's another layer that comes later on down the road and that stuff should all be relatively done by

  • 44:11

the time we get to alpha one cool and um of course there was a couple questions in regards to when

  • 44:17

steven jumped off the cliff into the water uh will there be fall damage when you fall into the water and also i know

  • 44:22

there were some questions regarding mounts a lot of those questions that you guys have asked in regards to mounts is answered in our mounts video so

  • 44:28

definitely go check that out it's a 4k video lots of answers so uh go go check that video out not right now but later

  • 44:35

um when you need your fix but in regards to the fall damage from jumping off a cliff into the water will there be

  • 44:40

an element of that i don't think so not in the water probably oh no well there will be in

  • 44:46

in water because what we want to do is make sure that with the ship usage that's present in in

  • 44:53

game right you're going to have areas of the ship that are very elevated and we want

  • 45:00

players to have a risk associated if they were to let's say fumble and fall off that ship it won't be as

  • 45:06

strong as ground right but there will be some damage like you noticed when i jumped off into that water um you know i probably would have died

  • 45:13

if it were ground right so we'll have to have some type of variant that's going to have different like different rooms yeah

  • 45:19

i mean that was that was something that that was important in in some you know and and i want to keep referring to it but

  • 45:26

in another game that had uh naval play i really enjoyed the risk that was present when

  • 45:32

you know you would have to climb up the mass or access you know you wanted to use glider you had to have kind of your

  • 45:37

glider mounts prepared and stuff like that to you so you could jump down like jump down without falling and stuff right

  • 45:42

yeah or you know if you're a caster you might have some levitate or file jeff jeff doesn't like

  • 45:49

fall damage uh it's it's what you saw there was a

  • 45:55

bug like it's the water is being treated like ground there yeah um we we will have like sort of

  • 46:00

differentiating things there but um but i was just uh it when i saw it i was like oh

  • 46:05

that was wrong and then to hear that it was actually okay cool um i know we would be here all

  • 46:12

day if we answered every question but we do have a lot of other things to get to but i hopefully i covered a lot of the stuff that i noticed

  • 46:18

that was going on in chat um so we have something else that i want to

  • 46:24

show you it is web design things now uh to preface this we are still it's still

Web Design

  • 46:30

you know being a work in progress but um we are scheduled for a late february

  • 46:36

launch of the initial site now this doesn't mean all of our features are going to be available but i have been working really hard on

  • 46:42

this ever since i started i've been really excited to get the website going so

  • 46:48

a little sneak peek so first this imagery kind of gives you like the style of where i'm going with

  • 46:53

our website um and you know a lot goes into website design as well um

  • 46:58

but that it kind of gives you that we will also have a login process and you'll be able to

  • 47:05

also sign up with your google your discord twitter facebook twitch so there will be single side on solution

  • 47:11

options for that also vk so it will be specific to your region now some of

  • 47:16

these features will not launch at the beginning of the website launch but there will be a lot of that and then

  • 47:22

i also have a little video kind of that plays through like i just scroll through and kind of showcase some of the elements

  • 47:27

that are on the site um but yeah i'm going to try to make it very clear to you you know what is on it when you interact

  • 47:34

with things like there will be hover effects and click clickfx you'll be able to sign into your account

  • 47:39

uh look at your account page and things like that that top bar will you know expand across all of our sites uh there

  • 47:45

will be information on all of our different classes and things like that coming down the line as well you know we have our news section and

  • 47:52

all of that jazz as well um and when you click on the news we'll also be able to provide you all the details like

  • 47:57

obviously this is all just fake information to showcase the the product itself but um yeah we're

  • 48:04

working really hard on it and you know that's kind of um the stuff that we're doing obviously

  • 48:10

it's not finished i just kind of wanted to give you guys like a little teaser of what to what you can see in the future in regards to

  • 48:17

our design um moving on from there unless you guys have anything else

  • 48:23

it looks great yay it's looking good i'm excited i'm probably going to cry

  • 48:28

whenever we launch because i've wanted a new website for a while i think it just i just want to

  • 48:33

make sure it's really clear uh what what's going on and where things are the shop will also get a redesign i don't feel comfortable sharing the

  • 48:40

looks of that yet because i'm still working on the design with them um but the shop will get a new look as

  • 48:45

well um so yeah yeah and and just to give you guys some insight you know obviously

  • 48:51

the platform related things such as the website took a little bit of a back seat because our internal resources really

  • 48:56

didn't didn't get prioritized for website related work they were more towards the game and the back end functionality

  • 49:02

of the account systems um but we've had a really great um partner that

  • 49:07

we've brought on board to kind of help with this and and that's been valor software you guys probably never heard of them before but

  • 49:13

they they've done a great job in in helping augment kind of the platform team and

  • 49:18

the the workload that's necessary for the website and margaret's uh taking a great hand in kind of directing that design philosophy and

  • 49:25

and and whatnot so good job on that front yeah it's been really cool they've been awesome to work with

  • 49:30

and um you know we're like a little team that we have and it's been pretty cool seeing everything come to fruition a lot of the stuff that

  • 49:36

they're working on is on the back end of it you know the connection of everything um but as we're getting closer to launch

  • 49:42

we'll be launching all the different features um as steven said in the creative director's letter i'll be putting together an article that goes over you

  • 49:48

know with the launch of it as well as like what you can expect in the future um i noticed there were some comments in

  • 49:54

regards to the forums i did respond to the forums uh post about this but we are not updating the forums

  • 49:59

currently uh that will be in a later phase as well uh for looks and styles but that won't affect like the content that's on the site it'll

  • 50:06

just be more of like what it looks like but you can rest assured that you know as the new site

  • 50:11

rolls out there will be phases where you will see consistent updates and reworking being

  • 50:17

done to facilitate a better easy transition to a more user-friendly back office as well as

  • 50:24

uh the front-end stuff yeah your and your account stuff like that your account page is going to look a lot different it'll be

  • 50:30

easier for you to see all of all of your security options as well as selecting your email options and um

  • 50:37

we'll have some documentation stuff for content creators as well as um some other elements in there

  • 50:45

for referrals i know there's been a lot of questions regarding that and like stats and stuff so we'll be bringing all of those things online

  • 50:51

that's definitely a lot of stuff that i i have i hear your concerns and i will make sure that those are in there um but yeah we're working on all of that

  • 50:59

uh so yeah it will be exciting as well as even on our cs front we'll be um kind of making some updates on that for

  • 51:05

the look and style of the cs page as well so we're doing a lot of work and if you have any feedback

  • 51:11

definitely toss us on the forums toast is amazing and always gets us like the design feedback from all fronts

  • 51:16

so if you have web feedback or things that you'd like to see features definitely you know put those into a

  • 51:21

feedback thread and toss them toss them to sway and i'll make sure that i will i read that and comment on it as well

  • 51:28

jeff i just noticed in the bottom right hand corner that face and it scared the heck out of me

  • 51:34

just a moment like i was looking at the stream and i was like oh what is that those eyes oh no he's always there

  • 51:42

i loved the screen it's so good you don't see anything what face yeah

  • 51:50

you should take like a knife to one of its wheels or something

  • 51:55

like a little chucky thomas just gotta remember to take it off before my daughter comes home oh yeah that's true that's not child's

  • 52:02

friendly um okay moving on from there unless you guys have anything else you want to add

  • 52:08

on the web design front or design friend let's move on to our environment art

Environment Art Update

  • 52:14

obviously we got to talk with bacon and we saw a lot of it um but we will kind of showcase a little bit more of

  • 52:20

more things because why not more art so this first thing is beach decals and i don't know if you want to talk a little

  • 52:26

bit more about beach decals and uh what that entitles stephen or jeff

  • 52:32

oh it's just a way to sort of break up the underlying um like landscape textures um uh

  • 52:39

basically they change their form they're a little bit dynamic so every time you place one down it's in a little bit of a

  • 52:44

different shape so so kind of breaks up some of the monotony and the the repetition of what's going on underneath it um but

  • 52:50

yeah great and then moving on from there we have our props and we have

  • 52:56

quite a few props in here um that have been created obviously we've been showing the phases

  • 53:02

of these uh from concept into finalized art um now you're getting to see some other

  • 53:08

pieces like rugs i know we've been showing a lot of uh beds in the past but now you're seeing

  • 53:13

some chairs some tables uh stuff from my tavern yeah exactly

  • 53:19

there's another bunk bed version of this we talked about bunk beds in a previous live stream

  • 53:24

um and people thought i think the the great thing about you know having so many cultures in our

  • 53:31

mmorpg right i mean i don't you know when i play mmos i tend to see maybe four races five races you know

  • 53:37

that's very rare that i find mmo with more than that but um the great thing about these prop sets is that there are unique

  • 53:44

sets of props that are being created for each of the nine cultures that exist within the game if

  • 53:49

you think about that as just such a large amount of available furniture pieces that then

  • 53:56

will also lend to character and excuse me house customization which is

  • 54:01

such an important thing i think for making a game your home so to speak um is the ability to express

  • 54:08

yourself in a unique way that isn't just cookie cutter for everybody and it's not a small selection of choice

  • 54:14

um but there's there's going to be a wide array of opportunity for for players to really make

  • 54:20

their space their own um and that's what you you're seeing these updates with these props constantly you're like oh my gosh

  • 54:26

another set of furniture another set of chair you know but ultimately houses and a lot of buildings and you're going to

  • 54:32

exactly you all have your own style that you're going to want to decorate your houses in like you have to think about all of those things

  • 54:38

and housing and games is insane i don't know how many of you guys got involved in housing and a lot of

  • 54:43

other mmos but um people get a little crazy they do absolutely they put other things together to make

  • 54:49

other like things it's just and that's the best that's really the best thing i mean i remember you know jeff was recounting

  • 54:56

to me one time a few months ago about the cool creations that people had in everquest

  • 55:02

i was just listening to him yeah listening to him tell me about that and i was just like that's pretty awesome

  • 55:07

someone used like plates at one point and like angled them weird to make blinds and then put like a child it was

  • 55:13

just amazing it's crazy what they put together to like make stuff um give players tools and they'll do

  • 55:19

really awesome things with them i know people are trying to guess what race this is but um primarily a lot of these are empyrean and then um

  • 55:25

i think one or two of the rugs are junior as well so or klar sorry not junior you guys are

  • 55:31

saying they're junior but they're not um moving on from there we have

  • 55:38

some tropics now you got to see a lot of this um in game but we didn't get to stop in

  • 55:44

all the locations so i wanted to make sure that i got to show case some of the areas that you

  • 55:49

might not have gotten to see necessarily um but yeah very very cool stuff

  • 55:56

it's amazing to see all of the work that our art team has been doing obviously we've been we showcase it

  • 56:01

every month um and you know we have bacon on and he talked about it too like that team is just they're phenomenal and mad

  • 56:09

yeah they absolutely are i mean everyone on the intrepid team just is phenomenal but

  • 56:14

um you know one thing that's always been very cool to me to kind of watch through this development is has just

  • 56:20

been the sheer size of the world and the complexity of it i mean like bacon said this is the largest project he's ever

  • 56:26

worked on and i know that's true for many at the studio um but i don't know that there are too many projects that

  • 56:32

could be qualified as larger the maps are insane it's pretty it's pretty big but i mean

  • 56:39

all of that again goes to creating an experience that is just has such an opportunity for a

  • 56:45

unique feel to us as players but also has that kind of traditional gravity that we want to see in mmos so

  • 56:53

um the team's doing a great job in filling this world and it's one step at a time i mean it's a very

  • 56:58

very large very large world speaking of large oh these flowers are so cool like

  • 57:04

mushroom flowers i added these in here oh yeah keith keith worked on these

  • 57:09

um keith worked on these and and uh you know i don't i don't want to necessarily reveal what their role is

  • 57:15

going to be but i i just love the kind of color saturation that's present in these

  • 57:20

and and the the bioluminescence that's in in them as well and just they're another

  • 57:26

unique aspect i mean it's it's just a it looks really cool i love the little mushrooms at the bottom too

  • 57:31

yeah they're so cool it's very beautiful i love it i was i was i was telling i

  • 57:37

don't remember who i was telling but i was like you know who knows what these trees might do they could be environmental hazards they could have

  • 57:43

some like noxious gas that comes out oh whoops could have some tentacles that fly at

  • 57:49

you i don't know but you know they look cool it's okay stephen you don't have to be concerned about the pi stuff they have

  • 57:55

to worry about i'm just managing it all i'm like trying to remember what was said where

  • 58:01

um and of course we're gonna move on to our character art and i think this is a good like segue into that

Character Art Update

  • 58:06

um so many cool character art pieces now you've seen some turtles this is the um timeless terrapin i kind

  • 58:14

of wanted to showcase we've been showing off a lot of like the final product but i kind of wanted to show you guys before they even get their

  • 58:21

textures on them what they look like so this is the um timeless terrapin

  • 58:26

um that was part of it and then also we have our flame fin our flame fin uh frigate would you say

  • 58:33

jeff i said i haven't seen that turtle yet i saw the concept art for it but i don't know

  • 58:38

yeah now you're seeing it in game i think it actually looks uh cooler and so 3d than it then yeah that's really pulled it off

  • 58:45

that's amazing it's because there's a lot going on on that concept was because i was like i really want this

  • 58:50

turtle to be like it's got stuff grown on it like it's been just living in an area for

  • 58:56

you know ever so now the ship pulled it off the ship reveal is

  • 59:01

actually one of the first uh ships that have has begun getting modeled and there's still some

  • 59:07

adjustments to the to the geo like um the bow needs to come up i think a little bit but atkins has done an

  • 59:13

awesome job in in um in getting this getting this started and just to give

  • 59:19

you some just yeah i know just to give you some context and the size like that is a frigate class ship

  • 59:25

so um it's not necessarily the largest but it is a larger one and um you know that's intended to hold

  • 59:32

uh roughly a raid uh worth of of individuals so up to almost 40 people

  • 59:37

when i was designing that it was really interesting because there's nothing like that concept so i was like i want this

  • 59:43

creature like showing like a bunch of different angles of the creature and like where i would like it to be showcased on

  • 59:49

the on the boat um and then the type of boat that kind of like really meshed well with the the style of the creature and i think

  • 59:55

they just pulled it off really well so i'm excited to see it actually like in game i'm like pumped yeah just to give you

  • 1:00:00

guys context also on on kind of the you know having that many people on a ship really the intent is for the ship is

  • 1:00:09

in in essence a vehicle that has operations on it right and there are going to be activities for players who are not

  • 1:00:15

necessarily the captain but for them to perform either during combat or during non-combat scenarios

  • 1:00:22

that can benefit kind of uh whatever the strategy of that particular raid is on that vessel at the time

  • 1:00:28

um so those are all kind of things you can look forward to

  • 1:00:33

all right and then we have moving on from there we're going to show the corvette

  • 1:00:38

castigator i know steven has also um kind of already

  • 1:00:44

sneak peeked this before as well what we showed you know actually i think we showed that

  • 1:00:49

in the past the corvette cascader completed model but not in game that's

  • 1:00:56

true that's true yeah oh no the next thing i have is tide snapper this is just primarily

  • 1:01:01

to show the water the barrel roll yeah like the the particle effects that are going on in the water when you when yeah

  • 1:01:08

interacts with it jim did a great job you know obviously this was some commentary we had seen from players

  • 1:01:14

during the test you know why why don't the why doesn't the water interact with my feet why does it interact with my mount

  • 1:01:19

you know those are polish areas that don't come online usually this early in game development obviously right these

  • 1:01:25

are these are kind of things that that we address later on we try to get the bulk and the core things kind of situated

  • 1:01:30

first um but jim did a great job doing a pass on this particular tide snapper

  • 1:01:36

uh and and seeing the water effects kind of react with its actions yeah and then this is the corporate

  • 1:01:41

castigator um 3d models are are made to um i think we

  • 1:01:47

have shown off it in the previous our last live stream as well but i think they added an extra one in

  • 1:01:53

here they're very excited about it and steven actually showed an in-game screenshot on our social so definitely

  • 1:01:58

go check out our social media you can actually see it in-game as well and you saw it today

  • 1:02:04

with bacon for a moment until we lost him um and then we have

  • 1:02:12

this junior robes set that is looking pretty amazing i know stephen you had some kind of

  • 1:02:18

conversation you wanted to talk about this like with in regards to like leveling up and attaining new armor and things of

  • 1:02:23

that sort oh sure yeah so you know these are examples kind of of

  • 1:02:28

lower level gear we're doing a little bit of an audit and rework on

  • 1:02:34

some of the gear that's been seen oh my gosh it is raining cats and dogs oh my gosh um but uh

  • 1:02:41

we're doing a little bit of an audit and rework with some of the starting gear that's present in the current alpha

  • 1:02:47

in anticipation for the alpha in april um and this is an example of some of the

  • 1:02:53

robe uh junior robes that are going to be present and really the character team just does

  • 1:03:00

an amazing job um you know it's been it's been a progression and they just continually

  • 1:03:05

are getting better and better and better and it's going to be i think really cool for you guys to start seeing

  • 1:03:10

later down the road some high-end gear because up till now really all you've seen are

  • 1:03:16

these you know levels 1 through 10 10 through 20 um and you haven't seen the 30 40s and 50s

  • 1:03:23

so progression that comes into play when you talk about character gear obviously

  • 1:03:28

is going to be with regards to the materials that are being used the general silhouette and its size and impression

  • 1:03:34

um you know these all all of these things progress as you move further down that road as we're accustomed to

  • 1:03:40

some people are like they don't want to see it because they want it to be a surprise i really like this uh chest plate uh section how it's like

  • 1:03:47

strapped on there that's really neat it's cool yeah do we know who did this one um i probably could figure it out if i went

  • 1:03:55

through the stuff but i'm running all the things so um moving on from here we have some empyrean hair

  • 1:04:02

so i know some folks were asking for longer hairstyles more feminine hairstyles so here we're going to showcase a couple

  • 1:04:08

screenshots of that and then actually i have a turntable of this hair as well um i think ginsee did this hair

  • 1:04:16

and and just to give you guys you know an idea like again character art is always

  • 1:04:21

progressing but you can see here kind of the quality and standard that we're aiming for when it comes to

  • 1:04:27

you know these types of as jeff put it putting a bow on things right jeff you said yesterday and it really stuck with

  • 1:04:33

me yeah hair is hair is essentially a bow on your character yeah no it's like it's it you know

  • 1:04:40

things don't look complete until all the pieces are there and you don't necessarily know what pieces are missing until it all comes together and like

  • 1:04:46

hair is one of those things that really makes a character look complete um and obviously is a thing that we

  • 1:04:51

really really want to focus on as as you know as a game right like we want to have

  • 1:04:56

hair tell so much of a story and like is one of those ways you really make your character feel like your own

  • 1:05:02

um so it's one of those things we have to think a lot about and make sure we're making good choices on um because that's going to be how you

  • 1:05:08

express yourself um you know at the end of the day yeah so yeah it's a thing we spend a lot of time i just

  • 1:05:14

in chat i want to see how many of you spend a really long time on character create

  • 1:05:20

for your character just to put a yes in chat because i'm curious um because i know that there are people out there

  • 1:05:26

that spend hours like sometimes like a full day just creating their character so they want to like prepare it and save the

  • 1:05:31

template so that like on launch day they have it yeah it's overwhelming yes on chat so um we have we want to have a lot of options

  • 1:05:38

for you and availability on that front i've always hated in when mmo launch days come and

  • 1:05:43

they the mmo does not provide you an opportunity to access the character creator and save your options prior

  • 1:05:49

because now you're having to deal with the option of oh my gosh i need rush to get in game so i can level as quickly as

  • 1:05:55

possible versus i want to spend time my character and i'm gonna have to buy a cosmetic potion later on so i can change what i

  • 1:06:01

did to just accepted the presets but you know but another funny thing and jeff and i used to play pathfinder often

  • 1:06:08

you know three or four years ago before before the production start to hit the fan um and

  • 1:06:14

one of the things i loved in pathfinder that we played tabletop rpg was just making the backstory of my

  • 1:06:20

character creating kind of the unique uh mechanics that can be built off of its skill sets

  • 1:06:26

and you know the same is true for mmorpgs really but if to a greater extent because it's visual as opposed to

  • 1:06:32

pen and paper right i like it yeah i mean it's it's um at cyberpunk 2077

  • 1:06:38

i deleted three characters because they didn't look right to me in the mirror even though you never really see your

  • 1:06:43

character like they just didn't look right in game and i had to go back to the drawing board like

  • 1:06:48

you need it you did that that's funny yeah i play a lot of tabletops so for me i totally get where you're coming from

  • 1:06:54

steven on that front so yeah it's it's good stuff and i really get into it and actually you know it's

  • 1:07:00

so funny in the tabletop stuff like i will commit actions that i feel are appropriate from a role-play perspective

  • 1:07:06

for my character based on its backstory but the other players at the table won't understand and they'll think i'm just being uh

  • 1:07:12

you know punk what like what like uh killing my character after we uh had an agreement oh

  • 1:07:19

wait wait what was that wait no remind me what happened i don't remember it jeff don't worry he's killed my

  • 1:07:24

characters too it was what i can't remember what it was it was a custom race and um oh yeah we made a race that lived

  • 1:07:32

underground we were called the um vadwar yes and you took out one of our party members

  • 1:07:38

and i was but that's because you were racist against us because you were overlanders i was and i made an agreement with you

  • 1:07:44

i'm like i understand why you had these actions i could kill you now but i won't let's

  • 1:07:50

let's keep moving forward and then when i was sleeping you killed me well to be fair i could kill you now

  • 1:07:57

is a veiled threat and we had to kill you because we can't just let somebody who thinks they can kill us live that was not a like you know that

  • 1:08:05

was not congruent with our racist personalities that we built so i'm sorry i killed you jeff

  • 1:08:10

i apologize but your great example is taking the character i love it i love it oh

  • 1:08:18

great stephen has killed many a character i feel like probably montes and brontes are missing

  • 1:08:24

each other right now you've ruined a family stephen montes and brontes were too powerful

  • 1:08:31

they were super they were like some die hard cheesy character barbarians

  • 1:08:36

that you and brian made and it was just an affront to the campaign they had to die

  • 1:08:41

come on we were shield bros we were a little power gamer

  • 1:08:47

although to be fair jeff jeff is the worst power gamer i will say that

  • 1:08:54

we were told to make powerful characters because they're probably gonna die and you made us make like five characters so

  • 1:09:00

oh that's great sorry i derailed the conversation it's fine oh all right uh beyond that we've got

  • 1:09:06

let's go to the next thing we have the thundering bald beast and actually i have a video

  • 1:09:12

of this so i'm gonna play that for you all here um got a little music

  • 1:09:17

in the background too hopefully you enjoy it um but yeah this is the creation of it and i apologize in advance to our art

  • 1:09:25

team when i sent over like the like the design for this and not the concept before we even got the concept they're

  • 1:09:31

like i thought we had these bodies why are they why are there so many wings

  • 1:09:36

let's just say when i found out about it afterwards i was like margaret what are you doing look i'm following

  • 1:09:44

the guidelines now i just got really excited and i wanted to create this monster but to be fair what you're seeing here from

  • 1:09:50

a scale perspective for the rider is not going to be the accurate scale of a tier 2 mount this would be so this

  • 1:09:56

is an example of a mount that's tier 2 that you'll have as skins and some people purchase this

  • 1:10:01

but it can be applied as a royal mount as well and essentially if a royal mount is available to you

  • 1:10:07

because you're either lord of a castle or mayor of metropolis we're going to scale up that

  • 1:10:12

the applicable skins so that they can be used as the royal mount as well and this is a version of the royal

  • 1:10:18

scaling so i'm excited to see the variations of this for the mpc monsters and stuff like that i

  • 1:10:24

think you guys are gonna have fun with that we will be having lots of fun with it yeah i'm excited to see like kind of

  • 1:10:31

what you guys design as far as like monster abilities for it and stuff it looks sick um

  • 1:10:36

so yeah i'm very excited to see the animation come to life for it uh but yeah i think that is going to be

  • 1:10:43

it for our our dev update on that front and now

  • 1:10:48

we're going to get into the q a and then we'll wrap things up for today so if you didn't already know we always

  • 1:10:54

put up well usually we put up a q a over on our on our forums and toast our lovely

Q&A

  • 1:11:00

senior community manager who's amazing uh lieutenant toast always kind of puts together the answers for people so even

  • 1:11:06

if your answers don't get in or even if your questions don't get answered here she does an amazing job of trying to answer as many as that she can on the

  • 1:11:12

on the forums now not all of them are going to get answered but um if they're repeated ones that we've answered like a million times already she's

  • 1:11:18

usually pretty good about getting those to you guys as well as i noticed that some of our community has already been doing that so

  • 1:11:23

thank you uh that saves time on toast's front too so please keep doing that it helps us a ton

  • 1:11:29

but our first question here is going to be from hicks uh hackson on the forums and this is regarding

  • 1:11:35

tavern npcs will tavern npcs only be able to sell items from players

  • 1:11:40

or will they be able to buy items as well buy items as in

  • 1:11:48

sell items to them yeah merchants in general will have a sale interface that players can utilize to

  • 1:11:55

offload either inventory items they own or sell items from players or will they be

  • 1:12:00

able to buy items as well so essentially the way that the tavern npcs are going to work is

  • 1:12:06

you'll have patrons of either endnode taverns that will have the ability to list items as part of that npc's

  • 1:12:12

uh merchant store um and those items will will mainly be around food and drink and

  • 1:12:19

you know those types of craftable things that are relevant to these taverns and those

  • 1:12:24

uh items will grant buffs based on proximity and then additionally players can build taverns on their freeholds

  • 1:12:30

we've discussed this in the past they will list their craftable um

  • 1:12:35

foods and drinks and whatnot with their npc at that tavern as well and who

  • 1:12:40

players who interact with that can purchase them uh you know have a drink at the tavern eat some food at the tavern and that'll give them a buff for

  • 1:12:46

a period of time as long as they remain proximity of that freehold anything else you guys want to add on

  • 1:12:52

that front jeff do you have any additions no not really i mean again you're going to probably want to sell items to other

  • 1:12:59

players more than necessarily tavern merchants but they'll be there as well all right our

  • 1:13:04

next question is from digitalwind and uh dara chris and i apologize in advance if i say anyone's names wrong

  • 1:13:10

uh this one's regarding marriage how might marriage affect housing will our freehold still be separate or

  • 1:13:16

merged in some way the freeholds will still be separate um

  • 1:13:21

we're talking about what benefits marriage system brings to players essentially i think more so but on the front of like

  • 1:13:26

permissions for your housing and freeholds you'll be able to set those just to preface that part so so one of the big

  • 1:13:32

benefits that comes with marriage and we haven't really discussed entirely what those what

  • 1:13:37

the ancillary benefits will be but i'll tell you one of the big ones one of the big ones is that um there will be a family system in the

  • 1:13:44

game and that family system will have a limit but the marriage will add a plus one so essentially

  • 1:13:49

that if you marry in you're going to be able to augment your family cap by plus one when you marry um

  • 1:13:56

and that's going to allow you to to share permissions to to enjoy the benefits of that can i adopt jeff as my child i thought

  • 1:14:03

we were against adoption jeff didn't let me have adoption i could be an adult no i i was against

  • 1:14:08

children children adults okay adult adoption

  • 1:14:15

i thought we were doing the whole children of the orphanage thing no no we're not doing that oh okay i mean there are children in

  • 1:14:22

vera that need parents because they lost them to a fire yes oh

  • 1:14:28

my gosh i'm sorry to go back to the marriage um did you have any other benefits that you wanted

  • 1:14:33

to talk about in regards to that uh or how they relate to freeholds or housing or anything these systems later on are going to be

  • 1:14:39

discussed but right now they're still kind of up in the air uh on on the benefits so and we'll

  • 1:14:45

probably have an article regarding this as well as a section on our website that will uh go over it too once things are more

  • 1:14:51

finalized on the design front too um so our next question is from jamatian

  • 1:14:56

and they would like to know things about mail in regards to this if i want to mail another player a

  • 1:15:02

social message without items will it be received instantly or will it send

  • 1:15:08

or will be time based on distance it'll be received instantly um and then additionally we're still

  • 1:15:14

discussing how mailing system is going to work from an item standpoint obviously we can't allow mailing to

  • 1:15:20

include any type of resource material or raw gatherable um because those are

  • 1:15:26

you know central to to the gameplay and transiting through the caravan system and regional economic no

  • 1:15:33

economic regions but it may be possible to send completed crafted items like you know gear

  • 1:15:39

equipment stuff like that but it's something we're still discussing all right and then our next question is

  • 1:15:46

from heikaiju and they want to know in regards to races will you be able to change your

  • 1:15:51

character's race uh for augment purposes no i don't think jeff i don't think

  • 1:15:58

we've we've we're going to allow race changes we well remember we did

  • 1:16:03

talk about this for guilds possibly um where where you can be considered a par a

  • 1:16:10

different race for that right augments it's a little bit different

  • 1:16:15

um and and i don't think we're going to go down that road we could if we wanted to but um i'm not sure like that's

  • 1:16:23

a much deeper sort of discussion we have to game out and yeah i'm not sure i like that my

  • 1:16:28

yeah exactly i'm gonna think i'm with you on that one i i i'm i i think that your primary

  • 1:16:34

archetype selection and your race selection should be because they have gameplay influences should be final um we we do allow the secondary

  • 1:16:42

archetype change um and that's going to be through a process um but but generally i would say those two

  • 1:16:47

things should be final all right and our next question is from floki and floki

  • 1:16:53

is wants to talk about a little bit about roads will paths and roads be pre-generated or will they dynamically come into

  • 1:17:00

existence based on player movement and activity maybe nodes coming to life and things of that sort

  • 1:17:06

both so our road system in game is

  • 1:17:13

essentially driven by pre-placed routes that that lead to um

  • 1:17:21

kind of this main artery of what was once the ancient like highway system of vera

  • 1:17:26

and from there there are roads that become exposed when nodes

  • 1:17:32

advance and we call those veins right they come off the main artery

  • 1:17:37

and then as nodes advance there are points of interest as jeff was discussing earlier these pois

  • 1:17:43

that exist around the world and some of them share coverage with multiple nodes

  • 1:17:49

but depending on which node advances to the stage that activates the point of interest it'll create these capillary roads so to

  • 1:17:56

speak um that then stem off of the of the note itself so you go from the main artery

  • 1:18:01

ancient road that's large that kind of runs through different zones and whatnot and that breaks down into the veins that

  • 1:18:07

lead to the specific encampments and villages and towns that then spawn off

  • 1:18:13

separate capillaries that kind of lead to the points of interest in these areas that are hunting grounds um those are not exposed initially and

  • 1:18:19

they come online as players advance the world yeah i think one of the things were referring to is

  • 1:18:25

kind of like this idea that like players kind of create the path by by walking over an area over and over

  • 1:18:31

again right um and and that kind of dynamicism is probably not gonna happen that's that's a

  • 1:18:36

whole nother set of technological challenges that that that would be involved there would be very very cool that would be cool yeah

  • 1:18:43

but but really like wouldn't be right for our game i don't think it'd be hard to yeah i'm just ready to

  • 1:18:49

see players spell things with that process but also dangerous

  • 1:18:56

very dangerous hey look in oh no nevermind i'm not gonna bring up another game i was gonna bring up

  • 1:19:02

another game of people putting coins on the ground and dropping yes lineage oh my gosh

  • 1:19:15

this is super toxic for me but there was a tactic back in the old like chronicle

  • 1:19:21

2 days where you would lay down like thousands of single adina across the castle field

  • 1:19:27

so that when players would come up they'd have to load all those individual adena assets it was like

  • 1:19:35

i didn't do that no no i did that in response right they did it first

  • 1:19:40

i didn't do it wait no i did it in response this is a confession right here recording live it was so great but you had to oh

  • 1:19:50

my gosh and then the poor people on the other side let me just always let me preface inside of it let me

  • 1:19:56

preface this don't do as i did do as i say don't do that in ashes or

  • 1:20:01

else we're gonna have a problem oh my gosh all right that's too funny now our next

  • 1:20:07

question here is from priesten or preston i don't know how you want it to be pronounced here

  • 1:20:12

in regards to chat bubbles and i think this might have been a follow-up from our pi meeting so now it maybe it's

  • 1:20:18

coming out public uh do you plan to add a player toggle for overhead chat bubbles and i know a

  • 1:20:23

lot of rp folks really would like to see something like this or maybe when they're making video content and things of that sort

  • 1:20:29

jeffree just talking about the other day um yeah uh we will include like so we do want to

  • 1:20:35

include chat bubbles um we do want to include a host of of

  • 1:20:40

options that will allow you to sort of manage those bubbles right um so you can turn them on you don't see

  • 1:20:46

just a field of bubbles um and no structures but um but so that people who are you know in a tavern or

  • 1:20:52

something who want to have you know an rp session uh can can set it how they want

  • 1:20:59

cool yeah so there's your answer on that front um and our next question is from a doc frog which wants to know about

  • 1:21:05

summons will summoners be able to rename their summons so giving like their summon pets names and things of that

  • 1:21:12

sort i think it would be cool um i don't think you should be able to

  • 1:21:18

rename the summoner the summons like creature type like that should be

  • 1:21:24

like a part of its name plate above it but it'd be cool if you could customize the name of this of the summit itself

  • 1:21:30

right like so you'd have like you know you'd have like the the the um tortoise wizard right that's

  • 1:21:35

the type of summon and then under that you'd have bob you know we'll see a lot of a lot of people troll in regards to like

  • 1:21:42

putting their name as their pet's name so it can be like a pvp strategy oh yeah no

  • 1:21:47

for real that we i did that all the time in fact i would make my guild name there all of their pets

  • 1:21:53

my name whenever we went into a siege and we would all summon the pets and there would just be hundreds of me

  • 1:21:59

and that that helped a little bit especially in lineage when you could slash target and people would run those macros and they would be like all assist slash

  • 1:22:05

target you know sorcerer or whatever and i would just die with a thousand bolts in me it was very beneficial also

  • 1:22:11

i would like to see fan art of bob the tortoise wizard so in the community creations toast keep

  • 1:22:16

your eye out if you find one i'll be looking for it i wanna i wanna spot like that um

  • 1:22:22

again though real quick i'd like to preface you probably shouldn't do that what i just described castle thinking the hundreds of pets uh

  • 1:22:28

that's not a very friendly tactic and then additionally uh don't name your pets something bad

  • 1:22:34

so just oh yeah well we have name filters and stuff like that and if if something gets through our name filter we will

  • 1:22:41

action on that so we will we will have cs and gm's in-game that will uh action items so definitely

  • 1:22:47

report things if you see stuff that's inappropriate during testing there might not be as many filters set up so

  • 1:22:54

please do that i don't think i should have i don't think i should have mentioned these things that i don't know

  • 1:22:59

many of these players are probably think i know it is ammunition now they're like gonna do these things

  • 1:23:05

don't do these things it's okay well i'll just ban you no i'm just kidding oh sad i'm just kidding um but yeah i do

  • 1:23:13

we will be keeping our eye out for like misbehavior so try to try to play nice it's never fun

  • 1:23:19

when we have to you know take action on guilds and things like that um shall uh is our next question here

  • 1:23:25

regarding a map interface in what ways might i be able to interact with a map and minimap in game like pins

  • 1:23:32

uh text notes drawings etc for my guild or maybe for raids or things of that sort

  • 1:23:38

party members it's a it's a super strong desire of ours because many of us are guild oriented obviously the ashes is

  • 1:23:46

meant to be built around community and having that type of administrative function available just makes things easier um

  • 1:23:53

and you know i'm a i personally i'm a huge proponent of those types of things coming from a guild leader it would have

  • 1:23:58

been happening when you were talking to bacon to be able to ping him

  • 1:24:04

i know although to be fair i don't know if he could have got there i think he was stuck i think he said he

  • 1:24:09

got stuck so he was talking about being under a rock or something so i'm

  • 1:24:14

not sure um okay cool so is that a yes basically is yes we will try to provide you as many tools as we can

  • 1:24:20

all right for sure up front um and then we have afo who wants to or i ifo let me know i don't know uh

  • 1:24:27

regarding mules what happens to my mule with items in its inventory upon death if they're

  • 1:24:35

like if i die and my mule if the mule dies it'll leave a um a corpse that has a portion of the

  • 1:24:42

held items if they are droppable uh capable of being picked up by another player

  • 1:24:50

so similar to kind of the other similar to a caravan or your person

  • 1:24:55

cool um so you know or could someone like take your mule from

  • 1:25:00

you like let's say you die and your meal is just standing there no they can't oh no no no they'd have to

  • 1:25:06

have to kill it first okay there you go yeah and if you were to respawn the mule would stay there for a period of time before desummoning

  • 1:25:14

and then we have sago at 65 who wants to know about caravans will other players be able to see the

  • 1:25:20

items inside your caravan or have some indication as to its value before deciding to attack

  • 1:25:26

defend or ignore so they won't be able to see inside specifically but uh as part of the

  • 1:25:33

caravan structure itself there will be little hints as to what the

  • 1:25:39

uh what the cargo is uh so for example if you've seen some of our

  • 1:25:44

recent footage with caravans you kind of see sitting on top of the caravan there's some gold or some silver or some

  • 1:25:49

iron there will be you know places along the caravan where uh based on what material or or cargo is

  • 1:25:58

present will be represented through a mesh that's on the caravan what happens if you have a cosmetic on top of your

  • 1:26:03

caravan there will be portions of the cosmetic that are identified as having uh descriptor material that's placed on

  • 1:26:12

that cosmetic so even the cosmetics will have uh places where the cargo will be

  • 1:26:18

represented little subtle places okay cool just wanted i figured that might be a follow-up that

  • 1:26:24

people might have all right and that is our questions for our january development update this is a

  • 1:26:31

long one as well um but hopefully you an all and a half well this is like two hours

  • 1:26:38

jeff this one was like two hours was it two no it's only 12 30. oh well no that's true i because i start

  • 1:26:44

early for the stream so never mind my stream is longer true it is like an hour and a half pretty much well the goal is to have

  • 1:26:50

some bonus content yeah it's like usually a half an hour before we end there was um several

  • 1:26:57

questions and i know we didn't really mention this but there was a creative director's letter that was sent out if you guys didn't have an opportunity take

  • 1:27:02

a look at it you can go check on the site uh creative directors letters there there were a lot of questions with regards to alpha one sales being available again in

  • 1:27:10

the future uh as i said in the letter we did receive a lot of good data around our last test

  • 1:27:17

that leads me to believe that will likely be the case coming up probably around

  • 1:27:22

um the end of february uh we might coincide with the launch of the new site so

  • 1:27:27

um keep you guys can if you're interested in that you can keep your eyes uh we will

  • 1:27:32

absolutely notify you through your newsletter and um uh through the normal socials if you're not currently following on the

  • 1:27:38

socials or in the discord on the forums and on that front um you know we'll probably be giving you guys a heads up

  • 1:27:43

on this in regards to packages already um but we are going to probably have to swap those out because obviously we

  • 1:27:48

can't give you alpha one keys if we already are over with alpha one um so that those packages will probably get adjusted within that time frame as

  • 1:27:55

well um so just keep an eye out for all of those details we're pretty good about you know posting it in our news section

  • 1:28:00

on our website so if you're ever curious about what's going on go to ashesrecreation.com news we keep that up to date as much as

  • 1:28:06

possible we also send emails if you're signed up for our newsletter please sign up for our newsletter um you might have to check your junk or spam

  • 1:28:13

mail if you don't see it in your inbox but we usually always send one out every single month so if you're curious as to what we've been up to and you don't necessarily

  • 1:28:19

have time to keep up with it that's a great way to um keep up with what we're doing every month and check out all the cool content

  • 1:28:25

that we're up that we put out as well as all of our social platforms you can follow us on twitter and facebook and instagram

  • 1:28:32

snapchat uh you know obviously here on twitch as well as over on our youtube channel this video will be up on our youtube

  • 1:28:38

channel as well so if you're interested in checking it out and reliving the action or you just want to support us by giving us a like

  • 1:28:44

subscribing over there and leaving a comment that goes a long way to helping us in the crazy algorithm that is

  • 1:28:49

the internets um beyond that a reminder that we will have a new dev discussion

  • 1:28:55

coming up in february it's going to be about classes so definitely get your feedback in there because i know

  • 1:29:00

they're you know wrapping up some really cool archetypes and class details and they want your feedback so

  • 1:29:05

yeah we have some actually some really specific questions and your answers will affect where we go

  • 1:29:11

with it yeah so make sure to do that and toast does a great job of uh recapping those things and tossing them over to

  • 1:29:17

the team as well as should we doing that in the thread the last one was already posted in the thread you can see that in the main

  • 1:29:23

post as well like the main op post and um she actually uh updated that section so

  • 1:29:29

check it out as well as our january cosmetics will be swapping over on february 10th at 11 am

  • 1:29:35

so if you want to snag those snag them now and beyond that we have our next alpha one preview play

  • 1:29:40

test scheduled for february 19th through 22nd so if you are a uh

  • 1:29:46

bravery of worlds backer or above or an intrepid pack holder definitely check your emails make sure you're checking those because

  • 1:29:52

we will be sending out information in the upcoming weeks regarding that i think that covers

  • 1:29:58

everything any final words jeff stephen you guys are awesome you guys are

  • 1:30:04
